EMILE CHOURIET
The turn of the 17th century saw many skilled craftsmen flee France to Switzerland and make Geneva their home. The city then known as the cradle of watchmaking, attracted large numbers of learned and skilled watchmakers, one of these gentlemen was the Master Watchmaker EMILE CHOURIET. He established his atelier near the famous Place de la Fusterie where he dedicated himself to watchmaking research. With a background in micro-engineering, Jean Depéry established his own watch brand in Geneva in 1998. Drawing inspiration from his ancestor, Francois Dagobert Depéry, a 17th century manufacturer of watch parts, he named his new watch brand after one of his ancestor’s main customers, EMILE CHOURIET, and so the legend of the manufacture was born.
EMILE CHOURIET is a luxury Swiss Watch manufacture based in Meyrin, the north-western suburb of Geneva. The manufacture develops timeless watches combining the finesse and elegance of contemporary design with the enduring quality of Swiss precision. Their official logo, the winged sceptre, highlights the brand’s vision of time and its dedication to quality.
EMILE CHOURIET watch collections include Ladies and Men’s luxury dress watches in 18 karat gold and set with diamonds, to versatile sports watches, and contemporary designs with stunning complications including Moonphase, Tourbillions & Minute Repeater models. The manufacture achieved the final step to becoming a fully independent watchmaker with the development of their own in-house designed mechanical movement, including the development of the Balance Wheel and the Hairspring.
EPOS
Switzerland has a rich history and watchmaking heritage that is the most famous in the world. This small Alpine nation has built a unique reputation over centuries of excellence thanks to the pioneering spirit and sense of perfection of its watchmakers. Peter Hofer established the EPOS Watch brand in 1983 with a mission to be a guardian of these traditional values and high standards. He achieved this by mandating that the EPOS brand manufacture high quality luxury watches fitted exclusively with mechanical movements. The EPOS Watch brand design and develop their watches with the same passion and precision to this day.
Holding true to the principles of Peter Hofer, the beating heart of every EPOS watch is its mechanical movement. The basic mechanisms come from renowned Swiss movement manufacturers, EPOS’s watchmakers then transform these movements by adding special functions and stunning decorations. Many watch movements include modules designed and developed in-house at their factory in Lengnau, a municipality in the Biel administrative district in the canton of Bern. These include the EPOS Verso modification and the EPOS Big Moon complication. EPOS assemble and finish all their watches with the utmost care and attention to detail. The brand offers high-quality mechanical watches with interesting functions, finished with loving care and according to the traditional Swiss watchmakers’ heritage. Together with an artistic flair, these remain the core principles of the company.
